HIBERNIAN F.C. - WINNERS OF THE CIS CUP - 18 MARCH 2007
Myself with the CIS cup and Hibs Striker Abdessalam Benjelloun, taken at the Lord Provost's reception at the Edinburgh City Chambers on Sunday 18th March on Hibs return from Hampden with the cup!! There were massive celebrations in Edinburgh as it was the first cup Hibs had won since 1991!!! I piped the players into the City Chambers dressed in the Hibs official tartan (kilt and plaid) and with Green flashing fairy lights on my pipes, which looked fantastic!!. I led the team upstairs to their Reception and then onto their open top bus for their parade down to Easter Road Stadium. I then joined them again at Easter Road and piped them onto the pitch to the massive roar from 12,000 ecstatic Hibs fans and around the pitch for their lap of honour. I ended up at the after party with players having a wee shot of my Hibee pipes!!!! Fantastic Evening!! During the afternoon, between 2 and 3pm, just before the kick off against Kilmarnock at Hampden, I played 'Glory Glory to the Hibees' and a couple of the famous Hibs 'Proclaimer' songs (including 'Sunshine on Leith' and 'I'm gonna walk (500 miles)' on the pipes in my Hibs Club tartan in Hibee pubs in Easter Road and Leith Walk (10 in total) for all the local fans. I raised £228.27 for St. Mary's Primary School football team, to allow them to buy much needed goals and some spare footballs!!.

With Pete Irvine, Director of Unique Events and the Lord Provost of Edinburgh.
As Edinburgh is twinned with Munich, you will see that there is a bit of a German theme going on at the Launch of the Hogmanay programme 2007. As I speak German, I struck up a conversation in German with the 'German' model, soon to discover that he was South African!!!! He was as confused as I was but we had a bit of a laugh!!!!!!!

The Fair Trade Awards, Scottish Parliament 2006
This was great evening, where I piped all guests into the Scottish Parliament for the Fair Trade Awards 2006.  I also piped all guests from the building at the end of evening. Great to see so many people and businesses following the fair trade policy and helping to reduce the suffering of people all over the world by promoting basic human rights, good pay and working conditions.

outside City Chambers,
Edinburgh with the Scottish Cup
This one was quite a tough one for me as Heart’s opponent in the Scottish Cup Final was Gretna F.C. my home team.  I said that I would play as long as I could wear my Gretna black and white rosette, which was on my kilt!!!!!!
Otherwise, I might not have been allowed back in Gretna!!
It was an honour to pipe in the Scottish Cup Winners and an amazing atmosphere!!
(Pity it wasn’t Gretna though!!)

Lawrie Reilly is joint third in the Scotland national team's top ever goalscorers!! This photo was taken at Tynecastle (believe it or not) at an Awards Ceremony in December 06!

Piping outside Annan Town Hall for the Sport Awards.

I had to borrow a Gretna F.C. kilt from the club as I was determined
to wear the Gretna F.C. official tartan.  Wee bit short but did the trick.
Got my Gretna rosette on again but for the right team this time playing
my dad’s old Robertson pipes. They were really singing that night.
My dad played these pipes when he piped for Gretna on ‘Match
of the day’ in the Eighties!

This was a fantastic inspiring evening in aid of a wonderful cause.
Organised by www.Walkthewalk.org in a bid to raise over one £1million pounds in one evening for Breast Cancer Research in Scotland.  All 8000 decorated bra-clad power-walkers taking part undertook either a full or half marathon through the streets of Edinburgh.
I only intended to pipe the walkers from the start-line but decided to keep on going. (A bit like ‘Forrest Gump!’)  I piped for 4 miles from the Meadows, around Arthur’s seat and up the Royal Mile, where I stopped to pipe all the power walkers going past!!
My pink flashing fairy lights and decorated bagpipe bra went down a storm!!!!!!

Breast Cancer Care Scotland Fashion Show 2006 at the Radisson Hotel, Glasgow
Me with Jackie Bird

The Breast Cancer Care Scotland Fashion Show 2006 raised £150,000 during the afternoon and evening show.  All models (male and female) taking part had suffered from Breast Cancer.  It was so positive to see the confidence and determination of all models involved who endured intense suffering through cancer and were thankfully recovering and proving that life can go on after breast cancer diagnosis and treatment!!
